My parents: Looking for a better life
After the reunification of North and South Vietnam, my father's family made the perilous decision to leave their homeland in search of a better life in the West. Nobody knew exactly what awaited them, or whether the life in the West would truly be as safe and beautiful as the stories they had heard. This audacious leap into the unknown exemplifies the extraordinary power of human determination.
They managed to build their lives in Germany from scratch, despite having no prior knowledge of the country, limited language skills, and no formal education. Their boundless ambition enabled them to achieve success as entrepreneurs and realize their dreams of a better life. Their story serves as a testament to the idea that anything is possible when you have unwavering determination.
Pursuing my dreams
Their stories have been a guiding light for me, highlighting the privilege of my upbringing and the opportunities that have been afforded to me as a result. They have shown me that I should seize the chances I've been given and make the most of them. They risked their lives to create a better future, while I only have to risk my financial security to pursue my dreams.
Their sacrifices have illuminated a simple but powerful truth: life is too precious to waste, and our dreams are worth pursuing with all our hearts.
And that is why I decided to found a company together with my husband - the strength of the family bond and the mutual trust helps us go through the best and toughest times together. My family's history shows me that there is always a way when there is a will and giving up is no option.
